What this policy covers
This policy covers oustack.com. It explains what information reaches us when you read the site or write to us, what we do with it, and how to ask us about it.
We collect what we have a use for and no more. When what we collect changes, we change this page and the date above.
Analytics and measurement
We want to know which pages get read and which ones lead to a conversation, so that we write more of what is useful. The site uses analytics for that, and the tools we use may change over time.
Analytics of this kind records things like the page you opened, the page that referred you, the general region your request came from, and the type of device and browser you used. We use it to understand patterns across visits. We do not use it to work out who you are.
Where a tool calls for consent, we may ask for it before that tool runs. You can also refuse this measurement yourself, through your browser settings and through any opt-out the provider offers.
Cookies and similar storage
The analytics we use sets cookies in your browser, and other tools we add may do the same. Your browser settings let you refuse cookies or clear ones already set, and the site stays readable if you do.
Where consent is required for anything beyond what is strictly necessary to serve the page, we may ask before it is set.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records standard request information so that pages can be served and abuse can be blocked. That includes your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and the browser and operating system your request reports.
We do not use server logs to identify individual readers. Vercel holds and handles them under its own privacy notice.
Services we rely on
Parts of this site depend on companies we do not run ourselves. Our host is one. Analytics providers and anything we embed are others. Each receives some information about your request in order to do its job, and each handles it under its own terms.
Email you send us
If you write to hello@oustack.com, we keep your message so that we can reply and so that we have a record of what was discussed. We keep it for as long as we have a business reason to, and no longer.
Writing to us does not add you to a mailing list. We put no tracking pixels in our replies, so we cannot tell whether you opened one.
We do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not pass them to anyone outside the people and services that help us run the studio.
Links to other sites
Some pages link out to Microsoft Learn, LinkedIn and GitHub. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy rather than ours.
Your rights
Canadian privacy law gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. If you are reading this from outside Canada, write to us anyway and we will handle your request the same way.

We update this page when what we collect changes, including when we add or replace an analytics tool. The date above says when it last changed.
